Amy Shankland, GPC, has been a grant professional for over 18 years. She began her grant career working for two Central Indiana non-profit organizations before moving on to the public sector in 2007. From 2007 to 2015, Amy led the City of Noblesville grants team in receiving close to $7 million in funding. She also helped the city receive numerous awards and led its sustainability efforts. She now works with over five non-profits to secure grants and is hiring new people to join the Grants Avenue team in 2020.
Amy is a former president and vice president of the Central Indiana Grant Professionals Association (GPA). She served on the planning committee for the National GPA Conference held in Indianapolis in the fall of 2012 and for the Central Indiana Regional GPA Conference in 2014. Amy is a former Dale Carnegie instructor and is an experienced public speaker. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English from Indiana University. Amy currently writes a column for the Hamilton County Reporter and recently published two self-help books through Tell-Tale Publishing.
In her spare time, she volunteers for her church and local therapeutic horseback riding center. She enjoys writing novels and walking half marathons. Amy is married with two teenage sons.
